TD-145

Two-speed belt-driven turntable with suspended chassis
Year: 1975-1978

The Thorens TD 145 is a turntable launched in the 1970s as an improved, semi-automatic version of the popular Thorens TD 160.

Design and Construction:

Sprung Chassis: The TD 145 uses a spring suspension system to isolate the turntable from external vibrations, a key feature of Thorens turntables of this era.
Tone Arm: It is equipped with the Thorens TP 16 tonearm, which is renowned for its lightness and precision.
Classic Finish: The wooden plinth adds an elegant aesthetic touch, with a timeless look.

Features:

Semi-Automatic: What differentiates the TD 145 from the TD 160 is its automatic stop mechanism. At the end of a record, the arm returns to its original position and the motor stops, which is convenient and protects the records.
Drive belt: Like the TD 160, it uses a belt drive, which guarantees precise rotation and excellent isolation of motor vibrations.
Two speed: It supports 33 and 45 rpm records.

Audio performance:

Thorens turntables are renowned for their warm and detailed sound. Thanks to its careful design and quality materials, the TD 145 offers very faithful sound reproduction, with beautiful dynamics and little distortion.
